Heard About Horse Therapy? Here's Where to Start.

Maybe a therapist mentioned it. Maybe you've been searching on your own. Either way, you're in the right place. Therapeutic horseback riding helps children and adults with physical, cognitive, emotional, and social disabilities build strength, confidence, coordination, and connection, through the movement of a horse and the guidance of people who care about their progress.

At Runnin' WJ Ranch, we've been doing this work since 2001. If your child or family member has a diagnosis, they very likely qualify. The first step is a single call, email, or message, and we'll walk you through everything from there.

Riders Ages 4 to 50+. Classes Built Around Ability.

Our program runs September through May (aligned with the school year) and serves participants from age 4 through 50+ with physical, cognitive, emotional, and social disabilities. Classes are organized by ability level, not age, so every rider is placed where they can grow. Not sure if your rider qualifies? Find out who we serve.

Jelly Bean Goes Where the Ranch Can't

Our miniature horse Jelly Bean visits preschools, daycares, nursing homes, and senior centers throughout the Texarkana area, bringing the calm and connection of equine interaction to people who can't make it to the ranch. On-site ranch visits are also available for groups. If you're looking for something genuinely memorable for your community, school, or facility, we'd love to talk.

What's Happenin' at the Ranch

Runnin' WJ Ranch hosts community events year-round, from our fall favorite Boo at the Barn to Pork on a Fork, the RWJ Benefit Barrel Race, and bi-monthly gatherings that keep our community connected between seasons. Events are open to the public and are one of the best ways to see the ranch, meet the horses, and find out if this is a place you want to be part of.
