It’s the perfect time of the year to get outside and have some fun. Everyone has their own special way of enjoying the sunshine, and one of ours is to hop on the back of a horse and move. Learning to ride is a great skill to learn, and we bring it to the people right here in our community. And since we know that equine-assisted services help kids with special needs to expand their capabilities, we’re proud to offer that, too.
Here at Runnin’ WJ Ranch in Texarkana, TX, we love our city. We also really love horses, and it’s why we work to get the two together through fun, friendly activities. Our ranch offers riding sessions for groups to help people develop the handy, hands-on skills needed to ride a horse. We also have PATH International-accredited riding staff that work with special needs children through equine-assisted services, which expand capabilities in those with physical, cognitive, or emotional limitations. Let’s talk about what riding means for your family.

Has Your Family Always Wanted To Learn?
There’s just something that’s so special about being on the back of a horse. The freedom, the speed, and the interaction with another living thing are unlike anything else on this planet. We’re lucky enough to live in an area with quality horses, too, so why haven’t you learned yet?
Our team loves to help people learn to ride. From a child’s first time experiencing a horse in real life to introducing those parents and grandparents who never got the chance, it’s always fun. It’s also great opportunity to get out there in the sunshine and be active for a bit!
We Offer Equine-Assisted Services, Too
We’re not only here to help people learn to ride horses. We’re also here to provide a great learning environment for special needs kids from Texarkana and beyond. Through equine-assisted services from PATH International-accredited riding instructors, kids in our community have another resource.
So, if your child has started to turn away from the stuffy office and fluorescent lights at their traditional therapy sessions, ask about equine-assisted services. Riding a horse can help those with physical limitations to find new balance and stability. It’s also a great option for those with cognitive and emotional needs, too. Let’s talk about their skills and your goals before making a plan.
